New Moon

Under luminescence of sun
I bask in cosmic delight
new moon exhaling
illuminating mystery
cascading ribbons suspending in sky, shimmering on water
beaming across my body

This is magic.

How can this orb be so far away, and yet touch me so?

Since I was a child
in the quiet of night
I have looked upward, toward Moon’s shimmering face
imagining other worlds, dimensions
and beings
living between lightness and dark

Oh, new moon
make me in your image
so I can be reborn, lifted into the dream
where lightness of being
is the source of all
