Artist Statement

Like so much in life, this series cannot capture all that can be revealed, felt or experienced. These images are inspired by the possibilities of collisions between the darkness and lightness of being, the sorrowful or excruciating moments, months or decades between angst and reprieve, suffering and solace. They also carry tender reliefs, the sweetness of moments of breath and bliss, the emergence of deepening wisdoms, affirmations of respite and gratitude and, moreover, the revelation of healing.

This series attempts to capture and carry my resilience and the resilience of so many. It is imbued with hope for a more illuminated and beautiful world where unconditional compassion, loving-kindness, justice and community converge in ceremony.
